The Beginning
The Chef’s Daughter Hi! I’m Denise, the Owner/HeadBaker at Addinnella Baked Goods, LLC. I also happen to be a 4th generation Gullah descendent, with roots on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. This self-taught baker has always loved delicious home baked goods since I was a small child. My daddy was a head chef, and I spent many hours watching him perform culinary magic in our tiny South Bronx, New York kitchen. A typical weekend would be waking up to the wonderful aroma of my daddy's homemade old fashioned donuts. The kitchen was always my happy place. It All Started With A Great Gourmet Chocolate Chip Cookie I started baking when my daddy shared a couple of his "secret" cookie recipes with me. Over the years I used his recipes and some of my own, to bake for family and friends during the holidays. Everybody especially loved the Chocolate Chip Pecan cookies. I didn't realize how good they really were until I baked some for my son's 5th grade class. My son's teacher fell in love with them. She said they were the best cookies she ever tasted. She then shared the cookies with other teachers at the school. The next thing I knew, she was asking if I was taking orders. They were a hit! People talked about the cookies for years to come. This is how the idea for Addinnella Baked Goods was born. My menu has now evolved in response to customer demand. So, I no longer offer my signature chocolate chip cookie. Today I specialize in gourmet custom decorated cookies and traditional southern layer cakes (red velvet cake, carrot cake, German chocolate cake, chocolate cake, and sour cream pound cake). Licenses, Certifications, and Awards Today, I bake delicious home baked goods out of my clean, Serv Safe Certified kitchen. As a licensed South Carolina home bakery, I operate under South Carolina Cottage Food Law. Before moving to the low country, I received the honor of being selected as Georgia’s Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce Pinnacle Award small business nominee for 2017 and 2018. I was also chosen as Home Based Small Business of the Year Finalist for 2017. My Commitment To You I am committed to providing you with the highest quality fresh home baked goods. All my confections are made from scratch, using my own time tested recipes. And that’s why you get a consistently delicious product that mass production cannot duplicate. As Head Baker at Addinnella Baked Goods, I get to share a little bit of "Home Baked Happy" with everyone.
